The theme of my work is working class life in the American South-usually Kentucky and Tennessee. I was raised on a farm in Western Kentucky and I now live in rural Upper East. Tennessee. The people I have met in my own life are the sources of my ideas for characters. I write short stories, published together in book form. Many of the characters return in book after book so their is continuity in my works. My books have evolved into primarily storie about a fictional town in the Appalahian foothills that I call "Greeneville."
"The world is often uncertain, chaotic and unfair. Life may reward you or it may punish you. Struggle marks the lives of people. The characters found in these books are not the fortunate nor the lucky. Rather they make their way through an often grim reality-grasping onto happiness where-ever they find it."
